What time do I arrive?

We have two worship services on Sunday morning. The first service begins at 8:45 AM. in our Family Life Center. Our second service begins at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary. At 9:30 AM all are invited to our Family Life Center for coffee, juice, doughnuts and other homemade treats. We call this time Café Connections. Sunday School begins at 9:45 AM. Where should I park?

Our church’s parking lot is located at the corner of Pollock and Hancock Streets. Handicapped and visitor parking spaces are marked and located nearest our facilities. On Sunday mornings, one can also park in the O’Mark’s Department Store lot which is adjacent to the church lot.

Where do I enter the building?

For Sunday School and other activities, most people who use the church’s parking lot enter the church through the back door of the sanctuary building. This door is located at the top of the handicap ramp. Follow signs or ask one of our greeters for directions to the sanctuary. However, you are more than welcome to enter through the front doors of the church for morning worship, which you can reach by climbing the stairs at 239 Middle Street.

Is the church handicap-accessible?

Yes! For those with trouble walking or those in wheelchairs, the easiest way to enter the building is through the back door at the top of the handicap ramp. Make your way through the first entry and then halfway back down the other side of the ramp and enter the sanctuary through the side door. An elevator is available to all adult Sunday School classes, but many classes meet on ground level.

What should I wear when I visit?

You will find a wide spectrum of attire at our worship services. At the 8:45 service many will be dressed casually. At the 11:00 service some people are comfortable in suits or dresses; some are comfortable in more casual wear. Know that you will not be singled out no matter what you choose to wear. Attire on Wednesday nights and at other church functions is more relaxed.

What is the worship style at First Baptist?

Worship at First Baptist Church is traditional in style at the 11:00 AM service, and nontraditional at the 8:45 AM service. Both of our services strive to enable an encounter of worship with our living God.

Is there a nursery available?

Yes. Childcare is available for ages 5 & under during both worship services and during the 9:45 AM Sunday School hour. Our wonderful FBC volunteers and childcare professionals are dedicated to creating a safe and loving environment for all of our children. Our Nursery & Childcare area is located on the middle floor of our Education Building (also known as Building B). Our volunteers are available to help you with childcare check-in.
