DISCIPLESHIP
WHAT DO I BELIEVE?
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
WHO AM I BECOMING?
The apostle Paul describes spiritual education and discipleship in Colossians 1:28-29. This is our goal at
First Baptist - to teach and grow each member in their faith. Our primary opportunity to accomplish this
goal is through our "Wednesday Nights at First" program. Each Wednesday night (Jan-May, Sep-Dec) we offer classes for
our families that are relevant for their life stages and that challenge them in their walks with Christ. In the past, we
have had small groups that focus on parenting, marriage, and finances. Often these groups are intergenerational
so that members of the church body have opportunity to learn from each other and grow together. We also have large group classes
where the church as a whole works though a particular curriculum, encouraging and supporting each other
through the material. Our discipleship is family friendly, and we offer something for every age so that all members of the
family are working towards maturity in Christ.

PRESCHOOL, CHILDREN, PRETEEN, YOUTH DISCIPLESHIP
Preschoolers will be learning timeless Bible stories from The Jesus Storybook Bible enriched with corresponding storytelling, videos, crafts, and activities. They will also learn how to worship the Lord through song in Preschool Choir.
Elementary-age children will use God's Word to learn Biblically-based lessons with interactive games that our First Kids learn how to take their biblical knowledge and use it everyday at school, at home, and in the community. We also incorporate Mission Moments into our lessons.
They also attend Children's Choir where they have an opportunity to share God's message in song to the congregation.
Our Preteens (5th &6th graders) will join First Kids on Wednesdays for class and choir, but will have their own fellowship every fourth Sunday night.
All Youth (7th-12th grade) will meet in the Youth Lounge for Bible study and fellowship on Sunday evenings.
