This Wednesday Night...

This coming Wednesday night, February 8th, we will have discipleship classes and Prayer and Devotion in the FLC. You can sign up for dinner by calling the church office or by clicking here:  Sign Up.

In addition to the Max Lucado's discipleship video class offered in the Chapel, Dr. Phil Smith is now facilitating another class from 6 - 7 P.M. upstairs in the Family Life Center. "The Consequences of Ideas" by R.C. Sproul is the primary source he will be teaching from. It is critical for Christians to understand the ideas that are shaping our culture and world. The more we understand the ideas being proposed by those in power and control of our government and business world, the more we can allow God to work through us in Christ to influence decisions being made. Ideas matter and how they influence polocies will propel our culture in directions that have serious consequences regarding life and liberty.

Pray for aging parents of our congregation. Many of our laity are trying to deal with care for their parents as they age and experience physical and mental decline. We also pray for our membership who must deal with a spouse with Alzheimers Disease. The caregivers are under incredible stress and need our prayers and support! It was great to see both Terry Hall and Barbara Gwaltney back in worship yesterday. Both had orthopedic surgery and have been trying to work through PT in order to get back to a time of mobility. We pray for Elaine V who had caterac surgery last week and has the other eye scheduled for next week! Ray V had eye surgery at Duke and we pray for him to experience improved vision! Sandra Dail's daughter, Carole Garcia is at Pitt Memorial in rehab and working hard to be able to come home this week for the first time since her horrible car wreck in Florida. John B is at home after a successful leg surgery. Faye Willingham's mother, Willa, has pneumonia!
