The mission of First Baptist Children's Ministry is to partner with parents encouraging children to become committed, compassionate disciples of Christ.
Annual Back to School Splash
Our annual Back to School Splash will be August 29th from 6-8 pm at the New Bern YMCA. This event is for children and their families. We will have the entire pool for our church family so feel free to bring a guest or two! Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. Sign up sheets are in the foyer!
Children's Fall Events 2009
Bible Presentation for First Graders
During our 8:45 and 11:00 worship services on August 30th, all first graders will receive a Young Reader's Bible from the congregation.
Promotion Sunday
All children will be promoted to their new class on Sunday, August 30th during their Sunday School time. Students will start in their regular class and then their teachers will take them to their new classroom.
Midweek Ministry Kick Off
Our Midweek Ministry kick off is Wednesday, September 2nd with dinner starting at 5:30. There will be entertainment for adults and children will be given the chance to meet their missions teachers. Classes will be available each Wednesday night starting at 6 pm. Classes are available for 2/3 and 4/5 year olds as well as 1st through 5th graders. All children will attend preschool or children’s choir and then learn about foreign and local missions in their classes. During this time children will learn about, pray about, and be involved in missions. During this time, we are developing our children’s heart for service. More information is on the Wednesdays at First website. Nursery is provided for infant-2s so parents may attend discipleship classes.
Parents' Night Out
The next Parents' Night Out will be September 25th from 6-8 pm. Exciting activities are planned for 2 year olds through 5th graders and a nursery will be provided for infants. Parents are encouraged to go out and enjoy a night on the town. Snacks will be provided. Sign up sheets will be in the foyer soon!
Baby Dedication
It's exciting whenever a new child enters a family. There is no greater moment when parents sense that children are a gift from God. In these joyful moments parents share their commitment to raise their child in the admonition of the Lord. Please contact Dr. Bender for more information.
