Bicentennial Kick-off Events: May 11, 2008 – May 10, 2009
May 11, 2008: Kick-off Worship Sunday:
Sunday School at 9:30 – 10:15 am; one worship service at 10:30 am with Dr. Roy Smith preaching; covered dish lunch to follow in Family Life Center (Gwen is organizing, Fellowship Committee receiving food, Baptist Men helping with set-up and clean-up).
June 4, 2008: Church-wide picnic; Congleton Shelter at Creekside Park; 4 – 8 pm with horseshoes, games, kayaking and canoeing from 4 – 6 pm, dinner (hot dogs and hamburgers) from 6 – 6:30 pm (everyone is encouraged to bring a desert), possible music from 6:30 – 7 pm. There will be a regular Wednesday night arrangement for this (sign-up through church office and regular fee charged).
June 22, 2008: Fred Mauney preaches
July 4, 2008: July 4th celebration beginning at 4 pm with hot dogs and hamburgers (bring your own meat & we’ll provide buns, chips & tea) at FLC; then off to Union Point by bus beginning at 6 pm (Marine Band begins at this time), bus will return folks to church from parking lot of Convention Center post fireworks display.

August 24, 2008: Missions Emphasis Sunday & Howard Mathews offers historical moment in worship (former pastor: Dr. Thomas Fryer)
September 14, 2008: Historical Moment in worship with Paul White (former pastor: Abraham D. Cohen)
September 21, 2008: Dr. Gene Puckett preaching
October 12, 2008: Jamie Norris preaching; MumFest weekend; request one service beginning at 10:00 or 10:30 am)
November 9, 2008: recording artist Jim Cole plays during morning worshp services and performs a concert at 6 PM in the sanctuary
November 16, 2008: Dr. Tom Denton preaching
December 24, 2008: Old Fashioned Christmas Eve Service: Service and dress in theme of specific time period – details to follow.
January 24th or 25th 2009: Meredith College Choir
February 7th or 8th, or 21rst or 22nd, 2009: Queen City Ringers;
February 22, 2009: Old Fashioned WMU of NC focus and possible Women’s Conference at our church
March 1rst or 8th 2009: Campbell University Choir
April 25, 2009: Chowan Choir
May 2, 2009: NC Boys Choir
May 17, 2009: BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

· One Worship Service at 10:30 am with Sunday School from 9:30 – 10:15 am
· Catered lunch in the FLC & Garden followed by a Time of Remembrance (Hendricks, Dorman, Puckett, Larimore, Bryant, Norris, etc.)
· 3 pm Dedication of Garden & Ribbon Cutting (cake, ice cream, balloons, etc. birthday boxes with slots for contributions to cover various things)
o Bicentennial Shirts, Throws already being made and sold with profits to cover Bicentennial expenses
o Considering a 200 Club (offering members a chance to be a part of this club with a minimal donation of $200) foundation for church
o Considering selling memorial bricks
